Ending 2025 with Intention: Habits to Carry Forward – and Let Go Of

As another year draws to a close, many mission-driven women I work with find themselves pausing — sometimes intentionally, sometimes because life insists.

You may recognize this moment.

Outwardly, your life may look full, capable, even successful.
Inwardly, something is shifting.
A quiet restlessness.
A desire for more alignment, ease, or truth.

This is often what a crossroads feels like.

And one of the most powerful — and gentle — ways to meet it is by reflecting on the habits that have shaped your days.

Why Habits Matter at a Crossroads

A habit is often described as “a settled tendency or usual manner of behavior… a pattern acquired through repetition.”
Over time, habits quietly shape our energy, our choices, and even our sense of identity.

When we choose habits consciously, they support us.
When we don’t, they can quietly drain us.

At a crossroads, this awareness becomes especially important.

Reflecting on the Habits That Supported You in 2025

Before rushing toward new intentions for 2026, I invite you to pause and ask:

What habits genuinely supported my well-being this past year?

Consider habits that nourished:

  • Your body
  • Your emotional life
  • Your relationships
  • Your spiritual or inner life

Take a moment to write them down.

For me, habits that continue to anchor me include:

  • Daily meditation
  • Gentle movement and stretching
  • Time in nature
  • Listening to my body and trusting its wisdom
  • Regular yoga practice (3 times/week)

These aren’t about productivity — they’re about presence.

Habits You May Wish to Gently Invite in for 2026

Rather than resolutions, think in terms of practices — small, repeatable ways of living more aligned with who you are becoming.

You might ask yourself:

  • What would help me feel more grounded next year?
  • What would support more spaciousness or joy?

Examples may include:

  • Creating regular technology-free time
  • Writing or journaling consistently
  • Ending your day with gratitude or reflection
  • Prioritizing rest, bodywork, or energy renewal
  • Spending more time with people who nourish you
  • Practicing mindfulness in ordinary moments

Choose what feels supportive, not demanding.

Habits You May Be Ready to Release

Equally important — and often more freeing — is asking:

What habits no longer serve the woman I am becoming?

These may not be “bad” habits, just outdated ones.

You might consider letting go of:

  • Constant self-judgment
  • The belief that your worth depends on productivity or achievement
  • Being perpetually available
  • Spending more time online than feels nourishing

Releasing habits is an act of self-respect.

A Gentle Invitation

Writing down what you choose to carry forward, invite in, and release strengthens your ability to live into those choices — not through force, but through awareness.

If you are standing at a crossroads as 2025 ends, know this:
You don’t need to have everything figured out.

Small, intentional habits can become quiet companions as you step into 2026.

I’d love to hear:

  • What are you ready to bring forward?
  • What are you ready to release?
